Community VS Technology (radio single)

show/hide lyrics

Don’t let your technology get in the way of deep community
You need to look me in the eyes if you want to hear me speaking
So put down your portable hand held devices and give me just 5 minutes free of your vices

It’s easy to be absent, but you got to show up to be present
Our communities are failing, because we ain’t finishing what we started
Starter Homes
Starter Cars
Starter Wives,
It makes me sick

Don’t try appealing to the powers that be,
they’re too busy commuting past your city
In a world where 6 bit files replace 24 bit DAT,
their upward mobility is at odds with my hi fidelity
When moving in becomes passing through,
staying put looks like going backwards
And fears of obsolescence cause a ringing in my ear

Screaming “Upgrade, Upgrade, Why Don’t You Upgrade?”
“Upgrade, Upgrade, Why Don’t You Upgrade?”
Because new is not better, and better is not best
And entertainment is not a virtue to be blessed…

Don’t try appealing to the powers that be, they’re too busy commuting past your city
Don’t try appealing to the powers that be, they’re too busy commuting past your city
Power, Real Power, is staying power…

I got a little house, on a little street with a very little yard
and it’s no starter, it’s a finisher
Cause the only way I’m leaving is in a pine box
And the only upgrade I’m making is to be buried in the yard

So that when my flesh turns to dirt
and my heart is exposed
My bones open up
and my marrow erodes
It will nourish the roots of the trees
Nourish the roots of the trees…
In my neighbourhood

Step out, Step In
Let go of your preconceptions
Rough skin can house a softer soul
Just like concrete can make a home
Don’t be blind to me (Don’t be blind to me)
Don’t be blind to me (Don’t be blind to me)

I live in Industrial C
Just Lucy Day and the kids and me
Living in Industrial C
Where the houses kiss the factories

We’ll take what you discard
We’ll move to from where you flee
It fits us so naturally
The good, the bad and then there’s me
Don’t be blind to me (Don’t be blind to me)
Don’t be blind to me (Don’t be blind to me)

I live in Industrial C
Just Lucy Day and the kids and me
Living in Industrial C
Where the houses kiss the factories

Yes there’s pain and yes there’s grief
And Smoke does settle on winter trees
But spring she comes, and unfurls her leaves
Shaking off the dust of a passing industry
She does not forget (she does not forget)
She does not forget (she does not forget)
She does not forget (she does not forget)
She does not forget (don’t forget me)

I live in Industrial C
Just Lucy Day and the kids and me
Living in Industrial C
Where the houses kiss the factories

show/hide lyrics

It was like I wasn’t honest.
It was like I wasn’t honest
It was like I wasn’t honest with you

Young love blindly assumes,
That all will remain the same
I was no different, I sold you that lie
Then I had the nerve to change

It was like I wasn’t honest.
It was like I wasn’t honest
It was like I wasn’t honest with you

We’re all confronted with choices in life
We never expected to face
You can choose to leave or you can choose to believe
That our love was always meant to grow

It was like I wasn’t honest.
It was like I wasn’t honest
It was like I wasn’t honest with you

show/hide lyrics

Robots Fade Away, its my last mayday
Eyes are opened wide, blood pours out my side
You answered my call, distressed and all
I’m so glad to lay eyes on…
You my darling child, looking meek and mild
You’re so precious; it was worth my life…

show/hide lyrics

You win some and you loose some
But you pray when all is said and done
That you do not become that which you fought
Cause you can win the battle and still loose the war
I faught that battle and almost lost that war

I’m like freaking Darth Vader at the end of film 6
Just a mangled mess of circuits and flesh
And just like that fallen Jedi,
I cast off my machinery to take one last pure breath
And in that moment I realize

Because I did not lose you, I did not lose the war
Because I did not lose you, I did not lose the war
Because I did not lose you, I did not lose the war
Because I did not lose you, I did not lose the war

This was never about them, it was always about us
They’d like you to think it was about them, but really its about us
This was never about them, it was always about us
They’d like you to think it was about them, but really its about us

Because I did not lose you, I did not lose the war
Because I did not lose you, I did not lose the war
Because I did not lose you, I did not lose the war
Because you did not lose me, you have won the war

show/hide lyrics

We stand so well in line
As we stand idly by
Don’t we from such nice lines
As we prepare our goodbyes

If you want what is mine
You must learn to stand in line
You will turn out just fine
Once you learn to tow the line…

We are all robots at heart
We are the robots
We are all robots at heart
We are the robots
We are all robots at heart
We are the robots

Sounds of My Youth

Words and Music by Randell Neudorf

show/hide lyrics

I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth

Cast your stone, cast it lightly
The next stone might be headed for you
Ya think your so cool, ya think your all that
But you’re all ready old news

It’s like a fleeting vision
It’s like a myth that never happened
Its like me verses you
Only it never happened

You’re on top, on top of the world
But everyone gets dethroned
Don’t think I am too old
To create a bit of raucous

It’s like a fleeting vision
It’s like a myth that never happened
Its like me verses you
Only it never happened

I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth

Judge ye not lest ye be judged
You with out sin cast the first stone
I think when all is said and
will be like withering grass

It’s like a fleeting vision
It’s like a myth that never happened
Its like me verses you
Only it never happened

I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth
I miss the sounds of my youth

Sunshine

show/hide lyrics

Hey sunshine
My darling sunshine
Believe me when I say
That you are truly bright sunshine

The brightest star is surrounded by darkness
Every star lives in darkness
The dimmest star cuts the darkness
Every star is sunshine somewhere

Sweet sunshine collects all the rain
And stores it in clouds of pain
Brown eyes turn to grey
On any old blue day
Remember what I say
Hey sunshine
My darling sunshine

The brightest star is surrounded by darkness
Every star lives in darkness
The dimmest star cuts the darkness
Every star is sunshine somewhere…
